Consultancy and administrative help for start-ups

Challenges to overcome

As a start-up company, you are often faced with many tasks and challenges during the start-up phase. And they don't get any easier when you're a newcomer to Denmark and have the idea of setting up your own business. The two young entrepreneurs Emma from England and Mateusz from Poland quickly realised this. They had the necessary capital to open their own food truck at the harbour in Allinge on Bornholm. But during the start-up phase, they desperately needed specialised skills, advice and help with a wide range of administrative tasks.

About the task

To manage the administrative tasks of their new company, they chose to work with selected partners at TOC. TOC assisted in setting up the new company, which included drafting a number of legal documents, drawing up a growth plan, taking out insurance, establishing a bank account, the right IT solutions and other administrative tasks.

Results

The whole process of establishing the new business went smoothly and in the summer of 2022, Emma and Mateusz opened the doors to their new food truck Basta Pizza in
Allinge on Bornholm. They have continued to work with TOC, which today handles the company's entire administration.

About Basta Pizza

Emma and Mateusz met when they first came to Denmark. In addition to opening Basta Pizza on Bornholm together, they have since married. Emma came into contact with one of TOC's partners, Kim Nielsen, when she worked at Restaurant Ark in Copenhagen. The restaurant is also a TOC customer. And when the idea of opening a food truck on Bornholm came up, it was only natural to utilise Kim Nielsen's skills.

The young couple fell in love with Bornholm and the gastronomic stronghold that the island has become today. They quickly realised that if there was anywhere in Denmark where they could fulfil their dream of opening their own restaurant, it was on Bornholm. They chose to focus on genuine, high-quality Italian pizzas prepared with organic, local ingredients. The food truck was to become part of the local community and a new gathering place at the harbour. Now, almost nine months after the opening, the young couple are enjoying success - since opening in the summer of 2022, selling pizzas at the harbour in Allinge has been a huge success and both locals and tourists have embraced Basta Pizza. The business is now doing so well that they need additional capacity, and they are currently exploring the possibilities of finding a building that can accommodate production and become a new eatery on the island.

We can only say that we have been more than happy with the good co-operation we have had and still have with the TOC partnership. Without TOC, it would have been a huge task for us to establish our business. As foreigners, we know nothing about starting a business in Denmark, so the professional help and advice we have received from TOC along the way has been fantastic.

We highly recommend other start-ups to make use of the TOC partnership.
