Establishing a new restaurant business and growth plan
Challenges to overcome
When the two chefs decided to join forces to open their own restaurant, there was no shortage of creative ideas for the food, wine and interior design. However, they also had to realise that it's not just about putting food on the table, but that a business plan, a strategic plan and other financial, legal and administrative matters also need to be in place when starting a new business.
About the task
In order to gain the necessary competences in connection with establishing the new company, preparing business plans, growth plans, etc. the two chefs chose to outsource most of these tasks to selected partners in the TOC partnership. Morten Krogholm explains:
We chose to start working with the TOC partnership, which has the great advantage of having many different advisors and experts. We made particular use of their finance people, who helped us develop a business plan, a strategy and also a plan for how we want to develop our business with more restaurants in the coming years. In addition, we also got good help with a number of legal issues, PR strategy and many other small and big questions in the months leading up to the opening of the restaurant. Since we have gone live, we have chosen to continue using selected TOC partners who support us with critical financial management, bookkeeping, administration and PR communication, among other things.
Results
Since the opening of Bistro RK, guests have been flocking in. Locals from Nørrebro, Copenhageners, but also people from the rest of Zealand find their way to the bistro. And not only the Danes have welcomed Bistro RK, but also the reviewers has given the two chefs rave reviews.
The bistro is a success and plans to open more restaurants are still on the horizon for the two successful chefs.
