Challenges to overcome
The organisation behind Værftets Madmarked is not large and for good reason does not possess all the professional skills needed to manage a business with over 200,000 annual diners. The management's most important daily tasks are to ensure that all guests feel welcome and have a good experience. Financial management and administrative tasks they have chosen to get external help for.
I can say without exaggeration that it would have been a huge challenge for us to manage the food market without the help and support of the very competent people we work with at TOC. Results
On 4 May 2022, Værftets Madmarked in Elsinore will celebrate its fifth birthday and with a steady increase in visitor numbers since its opening in 2017, the initiators have concluded that success has arrived. In 2021, the number of visitors reached approximately 180,000 and the expectation is to reach a quarter of a million visitors in the 2022 season. In addition, Gry Brix says that the close collaboration with TOC has meant that she can sleep well at night, knowing that the finances, insurance and much more are under control. In October 2022, Værftets Madmarked received the Børsen Gazelle 2022 award.
About the Shipyard Food Market
Since its opening in May 2017, Værftets Madmarked has been a meeting point for old and young alike, offering a variety of street food concepts in rustic, maritime surroundings. A wide range of facilities make it possible to cosy up before and after a bite to eat.
